Bar Ferdinand: Spanish Elegance in Northern Liberties

Philadelphia’s trendy Northern Liberties neighborhood is just one train stop beyond the hustle and bustle of Center City. It’s a neighborhood packed with amazing restaurants: some of them famous, others well-kept local secrets. Among these great eateries is Bar Ferdinand, a classy tapas restaurant that features Flamenco Fridays, a popular weekend brunch, and the best garlic shrimp this blogger’s ever tasted. (Really. Gambas al ajillo are pretty classic tapas fare, but they’re to die for.)

Fresh GreensBar Ferdinand is also available for private events!  Whether you’re having an intimate, sit-down dinner or a cocktail event where people will meet and mingle, they’ve got the space. For standing events there’s the Rose Bar, with a standing capacity of 24 people; then there’s the private dining room that seats up to 40. It’s an ideal spot for an elegant rehearsal dinner, company cocktail hour, or any party marking a momentous occasion.

Guests have private access to the dining room from the quaint Liberties Walk promenade. A full bar is available (with an excellent selection of Spanish wines) and the menu can be catered to your taste, so your guests can sample things like date & bacon empanadas, baked goat cheese with roasted garlic & honey, or paella valenciana. A glittering mosaic of a dynamic matador challenging a bull enhances the distinctly Spanish atmosphere.
